Sony has unveiled its S series of laptops and extended their family of VAIO laptops. It has a 15.5″ Full HD 1080p display and if one spends most of the time outside office there is an alternate sheet battery available to deliver up to 12 hours nonstop computing and can be carried along the whole day. The VAIO S series laptop comes with Hybrid graphics and weighs 4.4 pounds only.
Other outstanding specifications of S Series laptops include a backlit a backlit 10-key numeric pad, an Intel Core i7 processor, AMD Radeon HD 6630 Hybrid Graphics card on select models, and one-touch VAIO, ASSIST and WEB buttons.
The VAIO S Series laptop is expected to enter the market in October, its price range would be from $1000, and the optional battery sheet would cost around $150.

LG electronics is again trying to get in to personal computer and laptop market. It has planned to introduce 13 notebooks at a price ranging between Rs 26,000 and Rs 66,780.
As per the consumer electronics majors, LG has taken the right step to get into laptop business as now it has a better understanding of the consumer pattern in India than before.
Mr Sanjoy Bhattacharya product group marketing head – IT, LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd stated that the laptop market of 4.4 million is growing at 20% and there is a huge scope for LG to progress and enter the laptop markets. The company initially started its operation in 2006 in laptop and desktop market but soon within three years of time span, it has to shut down its processes. Now LG's confidence in the current scenario is firm and is hopeful to gain a consistent strong place in laptop market.

In Spartanburg, South Carolina, two women were approached in the parking lot by a man who said he had received laptops in shipping boxes in discount and allured the two females to purchase those laptops.
Thinking it to be a good deal those females bought the laptop from the man but later found out to be a packet of paper wrapped in black tape.
According to the police, the man was described as 5'11 and weighs around 130 lbs. He usually travels around with other man. He said he had laptops as well as ipods and ipads Also laptops were allegedly fine that he could sell at a bargain price.
The police is connecting this laptop case with the incident earlier happened in the city where a woman purchased an ipad worth $180 and later found out to be a piece of painted wood.
